April 2006

“I am the 2nd born in my family of 4 children. When my Father died in 1995 my family disintegrated, my Fathers family treated my Mother very badly and wanted her to marry another member of their family to keep us children in their family, my mother was not willing and so they said they would not look after us at all. My Mother sister said that I could stay with her and she would send me to school, i was in grade 7 then, unfortunately I did not get sent to school and my Uncle tried to rape me. I decided I was not going to stay with them any more and said i would rather be with my mother and would suffer together.
We did suffer, I know how it feels to go to bed with your stomach hurting from hunger and having to wear clothes that are torn, I was embarrassed. But I said It is better to be together. It was at this point that we met Pastor Chali and the Arms of Love team. My mother has a job but it does not even pay for the rent for our small house, so Arms of Love help with that, my brothers are now both in grade 7 and I am head girl and in grade 11. I know I have potential and want to become a Medical Doctor. I want to train in Monza College in Zambia.” |
